"Breakestra" by Jean-Baptiste B.

Hi everybody,

Please forget about the song “Wuthering heights” from Kate Bush (Thanks Tony !!!!!!!!!)…
Put your best sneakers, your best cap, we’re going to Los Angeles with the crew Breakestra.

This group, formed by Miles Tacket “Music man miles” and mix master wolf was born ten years ago.
At the beginning, both was Dj’s (rap, funk 70’s, old school breaks) and managed their Rootdown party in the rootdown club with more and more people each week-end. They decided to make a band to play the origin of hip hop music, the FUNK.

Their first full album “Hit the floor” released in 2006 was a hit:
“At first listen, I thought it was recorded in the 70’s” said Ahmir Thomson aka ?uestlove from the Roots crew.

They made a worlwide tour, playing in smalls concert halls. They came to Paris (guests of the famous What’s tha funk party) in 2007, at the Maroquinerie.

They released their new album “Dusk till dawn”.
This one is dedicated to DJ Dusk, who has contributed to record with Chali2na ( Jurassic 5) on the 13th song, and who died last year, in a car accident.
He was Dj at the rootdown club too. This album, is more soulfull than the other (to my mind). Some songs with fluggehorn and Horn section are less dry than the other but the recipe between old school funk and originals breaks is good as always with this group.

Hope to see you there

Keep it funky
